Kingdom Builders Service: Stepping Out in Faith to See Change in Your Life

Some nights carry a clear theme from the first song to the closing prayer. This gathering moved with one message: some things in your life will never change until you change some things in your life. Through praise, testimony, prayer, and a “bro talk,” the call was simple and strong: renew your mind, act in faith, and watch God open the way.

Stepping Out In Faith

Welcoming the Spirit: Praise and Song to Start the Night

The room filled with joy from the start, with warm thanks for those serving and a light-hearted spirit that made the whole family at ease. Sister Michelle led with a vibrant chorus that set the tone for worship:

  • Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us lift up His name together.
  • King of kings and Lord of lords.
  • May His name be lifted high forever.

Applause broke out more than once, with smiles all around. It was the kind of praise that invites God’s presence and sets hearts ready to receive.

A Powerful Testimony: Sister Shereé’s Journey of Faith and Transition

Starting Fresh in a New Area

In 2015, Shereé moved to a new area with no connections and started over in her career. She took a job at a salon, but as a child of God, she knew she did not fit the culture there. After four years, she sensed it was time to step out.

One day she parked on the street where her future salon would be. With mustard seed faith, she prayed, asking God to move mountains and open a door. Within a month or two she was renovating the building right beside where she had prayed. They planned to rent it, but God made a way to purchase it. The salon became more than a business, it became a place to glorify Jesus.

Building a Ministry in the Salon

Inside that salon, ministry happens. She prays with clients. She has led people to the Lord. When prompted, she shares simple handouts on salvation from Jimmy Swaggart Ministries to help seekers understand what it means to be saved.

She is honest about the battle too. Some days she has felt she is not doing enough for God, only to sense His gentle reminder that it is not about striving, it is about obedience and giving Him glory. As the salon approaches seven years this coming May, she sees it not as luck, but as a mark of blessing and purpose.

For more on what repentance and salvation look like in Scripture, this summary on what the Bible says about repentance is clear and helpful.

God’s Protection Through Trials

Her testimony carried clear moments of supernatural protection:

  • A fire broke out in the building next door while she was out of town. Photos showed smoke and flames passing over her salon as if a shield stood over it. When she returned, there was no smoke damage inside, only minor siding repair covered by insurance. It looked like a visible hedge of protection.
  • During severe flooding in May, water filled streets in every direction. She watched photos roll in as the water crept closer by the hour, then stop right at the parking spot where she had once prayed for that very building. It never touched the salon.
  • One day a woman walked in off the street needing prayer for seizures. They prayed right there. Whether she hears the outcome or not, the presence of the Holy Spirit is evident. It is not just hair, it is holy ground.

Current Transitions and Prayer Needs

This has also been a season of change. She and Joe closed on property to build a home, cutting their regular drive from one hour to 30 minutes. At the same time, three employees have left in the last year, and she is now serving solo. Even so, she sees God’s hand in it and asked for prayer for clarity and the right help in due season.

On stage, the prayer over her was simple and strong: God’s word is a lamp to her feet and a light to her path. May He order her steps, send the right people, and guide her with peace.

Numbered journey at a glance:

  1. Move and start fresh in 2015.
  2. Step out in faith to open the salon.
  3. Experience protection through fire and flood.
  4. Minister to clients and point them to Jesus.
  5. Enter a new season with a home build and a lean team, seeking God’s direction.

Community Prayers: Lifting Each Other Up

The family paused to pray for several needs:

  • Healing for Brother Steve Deer’s wound.
  • Recovery for Brother Steve Deetsz after a leg injury from a fall.
  • Health for Sister Bridget, who was sick.
  • God’s comfort and peace for Sister Julie and the House family after her brother’s funeral.

There was also gratitude for those who drive long distances midweek with kids to be part of the service. Faithfulness matters. And a word of care went out to Brother Tim, who took a short sabbatical from the tech booth to sit, rest, and be ministered to.

Uplifting Worship: Songs of Gratitude and Surrender

Thank You Lord for Saving Me

Gratitude rose in the room with a familiar chorus, repeated with growing faith:

  • Thank you Lord for saving me.
  • Oh my soul cries hallelujah.
  • You’ve been so good, my heart is full.

The sound of a grateful people filled the room, simple and sincere.

Humble Myself and Pray, then Praise the Name of Jesus

Another moment of surrender came with a song of choice and sacrifice:

  • I answer the call, hearing your voice.
  • Down on my knees, I make the choice to humble myself and pray.
  • No matter the cost, paying the price.
  • Lord, I will give the sacrifice.

Hands lifted. The room shifted to quiet adoration with “Praise the Name of Jesus.” He is our rock, our fortress, our deliverer. The worship was not a performance, it was preparation.

Themes that stood out:

  • Gratitude for salvation.
  • Humility and prayer.
  • Jesus as deliverer and our steady rock.

Bro Talk: Real Change Starts with You

The Core Truth: Some Things Won’t Change Until You Do

The word of the night was clear and practical: “Some things in your life will never change until you change some things in your life.” Make it personal. Some things in my life will never change until I change some things in my life.

This does not mean stop praying. Keep praying for the lost, for protection over your family, and for your church leaders. But when you have prayed about a specific situation for a long time and nothing changes, ask if God is waiting on your step of obedience. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results will only keep you stuck.

Real-Life Steps: From Prayer to Action

One example was a testimony about finances. After years of nonprofit ministry work and major medical bills with no benefits, prayer continued, but the numbers did not move. Then came a step of action: a part-time job with health insurance that fit the church schedule. It brought relief without taking away ministry focus. The door opened, and the burden lifted.

The same pattern showed up in Shereé’s story. If she had stayed in her old salon job, she would never be where she is today. Change began when she acted on faith.

Another key shift was in prayer language during a season of anxiety. Instead of only praying “take it away,” the prayer became “show me what to learn” and “show me what to change.” God answered by bringing hidden issues to the surface for healing.

Repentance: A Deep Heart Change

Jesus began His public message with this call: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). Repentance is not window dressing. The Greek idea behind repentance points to a real change of mind and heart that leads to a change in direction. It is turning away from sin and toward God.

Passages like 2 Chronicles 7:14 call us to humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from wicked ways. That is true transformation. If you want a deeper dive into the meaning and shape of repentance, this article on what biblical repentance really is and this overview of what repentance means with biblical examples add helpful clarity.

Renew Your Mind and Walk by Faith

Romans 12:2 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That happens through the word of God. When your mind renews, your vision changes. You start seeing your life through what God says, not just what you see. Then your prayers change too.

Peter’s story on the water makes the point. He stepped out only after Jesus said, “Come.” As he walked, the wind and waves pulled his eyes away and fear rushed in. He began to sink. When we stare at the facts, fear grows. When we fix our eyes on Jesus and His word, faith grows. Both are real, but only one leads to life.

Simple steps that build faith:

  1. Fill your mind with the word daily.
  2. Pray what God says, not what fear says.
  3. Let testimonies build your faith. If God did it for them, He can do it for you.

Attitude matters too. Stinking thinking will keep you low. A faith-filled attitude lifts your outlook and your choices. Attitude often sets your altitude.

Facing Obstacles: The Process to Promise

Obstacles are normal when you step out in obedience.

  • Nehemiah rebuilt the wall with a sword in one hand and a tool in the other. Opposition did not stop the work.
  • Joseph moved from pit to prison to palace. Betrayal and lies did not cancel God’s plan. What the enemy meant for evil, God turned to good.
  • Moses at the Red Sea heard a strong word from God: stop crying, go forward, lift your rod. When Moses obeyed, God parted the sea and made a way where there was no way.

This walk of faith is not about denying reality. It is about choosing God’s truth over fear, and speaking the word aloud until your mind and emotions line up. As was said plainly, “My God shall supply all my need according to His riches.” Speak it. Pray it. Stand on it.

Closing Call: Speak Life and Pray for Breakthrough

Here is the takeaway you can act on today. God may be waiting on your next right step. Renew your mind, repent, and walk by faith. Then open your mouth and speak life. God created by speaking, “Let there be light.” You can speak what He says over your situation: let there be repentance, let there be revival, let there be healing.

One sister shared how her home shifted when her son fell into negative talk. She spoke life with authority: this is your year, you are coming out of this. The atmosphere changed. Words matter.

Key takeaways:

  • Change your thinking to change your life.
  • Choose faith over facts when they collide.
  • Obey quickly, and expect God to move.

We closed in prayer asking God to touch every person, bring strength, peace, and joy, and let this word ring at home just as clearly as it did in the room. May the Lord lead your steps, order your path, and surround you with His presence as you move forward.
